My original therapy training is an Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Counselling and now I have over ten years experience of Counselling and Psychotherapy. I integrate several approaches in my responses to your individual situation and needs. This brings awareness of the emotional, rational, behavioural, physiological and spiritual, as they apply to you, delivering a tailor made service to address your evolving needs. My aim is to give you compassionate support and permission to be fully yourself, however challenging that can be.
I incorporate elements and techniques from
- Emotionally Focused Therapy
- Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy
- Compassion Focused Therapy
- Attachment Theory
- ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)
- Mindfulness Practises
- Embodiment Practises
- CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)
- NLP (Neurolinguistic programming)
- Trauma Therapy
- Psychosynthesis
- Breathwork
- Ritual
- Sound Therapy
I have personally experienced many challenges over the years and found that different types of therapy helped me at different times, I would not be the person I am now without all of these things. This is the reason that I trained in integrative therapy and that I offer creative approaches. I bring my somewhat curious-shaped rucksack of life tools and informed experience as a therapist. I am passionate about providing consistently deep listening so that the approach I adopt is always supportive of your current needs.
I believe we all have our own relationship to the life force within us, the creative spark that gives us a thirst for life. From this place we are inspired to dream, to be hopeful. Life presents so many of us with huge challenges and then the reality gap; the difference between our cherished hopes and what our daily reality actually brings; can create much distress. As a creative and humanistic therapist my belief is that we all have within us the ability to heal ourselves and it is my goal and practice as therapist to help facilitate your own healing process, and to provide you with tools to continue that process.
